Resort 2014

It is January again. This is a time to leave the old things behind us, to look ahead to a new year, new experiences, and new fashions. Resort Collection shoes are delivering and it is time to look at what is new and hot.

Lola Cruz is one of my absolute favorite breakout brands. They popped up on the scene a year or two ago and made a mark with extraordinary sandals. These sandals are jewelry for your feet and we picked three fantastic colors to choose from, Tan, Pewter, and Black (not pictured). Any complete wardrobe should include at least a pair or two of great espadrille wedges. Tory Burch nailed it this year with this quintessential spring/summer shoe.

Michael Kors is turning out a lot of great styles right now. Everyone loves a good cork wedge because they are perfect for taking your casual looks up a notch. The sandal on the heel is one of my favorite shoes of the new year. You can wear it just as easily with skinny jeans as you can with a cocktail dress.

One of my favorite trends in accessories is exotic skins. You see this trend year round, just like we see leopard print every winter, but this season all things wild are especially hot.

The next hot trend I want to talk about is wedge boots. We all know boots are a must have for any winter wardrobe and we all know that a wedge is so much easier to wear than a heel. That makes this the perfect trend for anyone to indulge in. 

Wear with: Skinny jeans, flared jeans, dressier pants, skirts, dresses.

 I love the way this boot blends the wedge boot trend with the moto boot trend. This is an instant wardrobe updater. 

 Sleek, refined, and extremely versatile is how I describe this boot. You can pop this on with jeans any day of the week but it works really well for pairing with skirts and dresses too. It comes in black too.

It is that time again, that point in the year when it hasn't gotten cold yet but the fashions are changing. It is time for Fall 2013 and new shoes are arriving now in the store. There are few things that I enjoy more than snakeskin. The texture, the color and the richness of this material is perfect for creating amazing accessories. Here are some of my favorites from two vendors you can find here at TOOTSIES.

 

Presmer is a collection of authentic python skins that are not complete budget-busters. The clutches come with two different lengths of strap, a nice short one and a longer shoulder strap.  The best part? The colors, they are hyper-saturated and rich adding a kick to any wardrobe.
